Reviewer guide

This section is for people who have been assigned the Reviewer role on one or more assessments. It explains what you are responsible for, the metrics RAP tracks for your work, and points you to the rest of the Reviewer documentation.

As a Reviewer, you check the truth, reliability and evidence behind the answers responders give, so that leadership can trust the maturity picture the assessment produces. You do this by reading each answer and its evidence, then recording a Confidence % and a Reviewer Comment on the question. Where the assessment uses reviewer-only Additional Fields, you can also record a Finding and related detail.

  • Reading and judging answers. For each question assigned to you, you review the Answer, any Comment left by the Responder, and any Evidence attached, then decide how much you trust the response.
  • Setting Confidence %. You choose a Confidence Score from 0% to 100% (in steps of 10) for each question, using the built-in definitions for each step. See Confidence scale for the full scale.
  • Writing Reviewer Comments. You record your judgement, questions and requests for the Responder in the Reviewer Comment field of the Reviewer Feedback block. You can @mention colleagues in a comment to notify them directly.
  • Raising Findings, where enabled. On assessments that use reviewer Additional Fields, you can record a Finding (for example Observation, OFI or Non Conformity), a Review Date, and related detail. These feed the Findings page and appear as columns in reports.
  • Leaving notes for yourself. You can add reviewer notes at the assessment/entity level, separate from the question-level Reviewer Comment.
  • Reopening your own review of a question. You can change a question’s Confidence Score or comment at any point while the assessment entity is not closed.

Exactly which of these actions are available to you depends on your role’s permissions and on how each assessment is configured; your Client Admin or programme owner can confirm what your role includes.

RAP’s Dashboard and reports track a small set of numbers that reflect Reviewer work. They are concepts, not literal targets you enter yourself — they are calculated from what you and the Responder do on each question.

Concept Where you see it What it means
Confidence % Dashboard top table “Confidence %” column; Assessment Entity Report “Confidence” The average of your Confidence Scores across the assessment’s questions.
Reviews Dashboard top table “Reviews” column; Assessment Entity Report “Awaiting Review” Questions where the Responder’s latest answer, comment or evidence is newer than your latest Confidence Score or comment — in other words, questions waiting on you.
Feedback Dashboard top table “Feedback” column; Assessment Entity Report “Feedback” Questions where your latest Confidence Score or comment is newer than the Responder’s latest change — in other words, feedback the Responder has not yet acted on.
Evidence Dashboard top table “Evidence” column; Reports “Ev. Req” / “Ev. Prov” / “Ev. %” The uploaded-versus-required count of evidence types on the assessment, shown as a fraction (for example 3/5). The gap between the two is the missing evidence.

There is no single “close review” action per question and no per-question sign-off flag. Saving a Confidence Score and/or comment that is newer than the Responder’s latest change is what removes a question from Reviews; if the Responder later changes their answer, comment or evidence, the question can return to Reviews. The Dashboard “Reviews” and “Feedback” cells are only populated for the rows where you are assigned as Reviewer; other users see “–” in those cells.
